Thoughts of John

What is on my mind.

Twenty Days of Prayer: Day 14

Scripture

Proverbs 13:11 Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.

Questions for Reflection:

If gambling is a personal investment, why are the casinos getting rich? If gambling is a healthy practice, why do countless thousands become addicted to it? If gambling is good, why do bankruptcies explode in cities where gaming takes root?

Scripture

Revelation 2:14-15 But I have a few things against you: you have some there who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, so that they might eat food sacrificed to idols and practice sexual immorality. (15) So also you have some who hold the teaching of the Nicolaitans.

Questions for Reflection:

Are you prepared to stand for God’s truth no matter what the cost? Do you rationalize and make excuses for rejecting Biblical standards? When the pressure is on, do you ignore Scripture and go with the crowd?
